PCS at 2026 Midsummer Madness
Pacific Coast Swimming welcomed 290 swimmers to Saanich Commonwealth Place for this year's Midsummer Madness, making it the largest edition of the meet to date with 30% more participants than ever before. The increased competition brought together swimmers from across the Lower Mainland, the Interior, Whitehorse, and Vancouver Island for an exciting weekend of racing. In the three days of racing, swimmers produced outstanding performances, achieving personal bests, new qualifying standards, podium finishes, and club records.
The Development Group celebrated several exciting milestones. Rose Tucker achieved a new Divisional qualifying time in the 50 breaststroke, while Megan Graves earned her first 10 & Under Regional qualifying standard. Aria Vorobyev also reached a milestone by qualifying for the 12&U Regional Championships, highlighting the continued growth within the club's youngest swimmers.
The Provincial Group had an exceptional weekend with new Divisional and VIR qualifying times, achieving personal bests, numerous finalists, and several medal-winning performances. The group also claimed multiple Event Cup titles, showcasing their depth across a variety of events.
The Senior Group also had an impressive meet. New VIR and Divisional qualifying standards were achieved while the group recorded many personal bests across the weekend. Several swimmers reached the podium in distance and butterfly events, with standout performances from both the Senior 1 and Senior 2 groups demonstrating the hard work put in throughout the season.
The National Group once again delivered an outstanding performance, combining for numerous individual and relay victories, podium finishes, personal bests, and new qualifying standards. The meet also featured multiple club records, including Nolan Greenwood breaking the club record in the 15–17 boys' 400 freestyle and the girls' 13–14 4×100 freestyle relay team of Ada Chen, Katie McLaren, Stella Neable, and Averie Hill breaking both the club and Provincial records. Across both National training groups, swimmers consistently challenged for podium positions, highlighting the depth and strength of Pacific Coast Swimming.
