Pacific Coast Swimming Gains Valuable Experience at Canadian Open
The Canadian Open, held April 7–12 in Edmonton, proved to be a successful and developmental competition for Pacific Coast Swimming, as athletes stepped onto the national stage under the guidance of head coach Rod Barratt.
The club recorded an impressive 15 final swims with Maëlle Sanborn adding to the results with an eighth-place finish in the 50m breaststroke while Sophie Wood secured fourth place in the 400m freestyle.
The meet also saw Alex Camaraire and Rubin Lee represent Team BC on provincial relay teams, further showcasing the club’s presence on a broader competitive stage.
Competing against the country’s top swimmers, Pacific Coast athletes embraced the challenge of racing at a high level.
Overall, the Canadian Open marked another step forward for the club as the team continues to build experience in elite competition.
