National 2 Swimmers Post Strong Early-Season Results at Senior Fall Invitational
Pacific Coast Swimming hosted the 2026 Senior Fall Invitational at Saanich Commonwealth Place, Victoria on October 24th. The one-day meet saw swimmers from PCS, UVic, and UBC. It was an open, senior-seeded competition featuring timed finals.
Although the swimmers are currently in a heavy training phase, that did not stop them from posting outstanding early-season performances.
Evan Eide delivered an excellent swim in the 100 freestyle, setting a new personal best of 50.86. The performance currently ranks him second in Canada among 16-year-old boys.
Ada Chen also posted nationally ranked performances for her age group. She currently sits third in Canada in both the 200 backstroke and 100 freestyle.
Stella Neable is ranked second nationally in the 100 freestyle and third in the 200 butterfly while Averie Hill recorded a top-two ranking in her age group with her performance in the 50 breaststroke.
Josh Lyu earned a silver medal in the 200 butterfly and recorded a season-best time that ranks him among the top 20 swimmers in Canada. Mila Chernenkoff captured gold in the 200 freestyle with a season-best performance.
Coach Tom, who was overseeing the National 2 swimmers while Coach Rod attended a National Team event, was impressed with the group's overall approach and attitude throughout the competition, "Knowing they were likely carrying fatigue from training, the athletes never looked for excuses or hid behind their workload. Instead, they focused on racing well and competing with confidence."
