Maëlle Sanborn Makes National Debut at Junior Pan Pacific Championships

Pacific Coast Swimming’s Maëlle Sanborn made her national debut at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships after earning her first-ever selection to an international team representing Canada on the international stage.

Maelle had an outstanding meet - achieving a personal best in almost every individual event she raced in. She opened the competition with a strong performance in the 50M Butterfly, setting a 15–17 Girls Club Record while also recording a 19th-place finish in the 100M Butterfly.

In the breaststroke events, Maëlle finished 5th in the 50M Breaststroke and 100M Breaststroke where she advanced to the A Final and set an Open Girls Club Record in 1:09.39. She also finished 5th in the 200M Breaststroke, setting another 15–17 Girls Club Record in 2:29.22.

She also represented Canada as part of the 4x100M Medley Relay, swimming the breaststroke leg as the girls' team finished in 4th place.

Reflecting on her first international team experience, Maëlle said, “It was so rewarding to be able to represent my country at an international competition. I learned so much, met so many incredible people, and overall had an amazing experience.”

Maëlle’s first Team Canada selection was highlighted by club records, personal bests, top-five finishes, and a fourth-place relay result, making an outstanding debut on the national stage and an exciting milestone in her swimming career.
