2025 Wavemaker Highlights
What an incredible weekend of swimming it was at PCS’s Wavemaker swim meet! We are so proud of all our swimmers for their hard work, determination (some dealing with illnesses and injuries), sportsmanship and outstanding performances.
Almost 400 swimmers representing 19 clubs from across BC, Alberta, Whitehorse, Yukon and Washington state descended on Victoria to participate in one of PCS’s flagship events.
PCS swimmers swam to hundreds of new personal bests. Many celebrated new qualifying times, with some achieving regional, divisional and provincial times for the first time. Special congratulations go to those swimmers that qualified for the Canadian Open, Canadian Short Course Championships (August 2025 in Sherbrooke) and the Canadian Swimming Trials, which we are co-hosting here in Victoria in June 2025.
Congratulations to the swimmers who set 8 club records over the weekend.
Lukas Schroeder (10) set an impressive 6 individual club records as well as being a part of the 2 relay records, including the 200m IM (2:43.20), 100m freestyle (1:08.30), 1500m freestyle (20:48.61), 400m IM (5:53.87), 400m freestyle (5:03.06) & the 200m freestyle (2:27.33), as well as the 4x50m medley relay along with Noah Brown, Robson Thrift and Sam Massyn and the 4x100m medley relay alongside Noah Brown, Robson Thrift, and Oban Lecours.
A BIG THANKS goes to our dedicated volunteers and volunteer leaders - parents, grandparents, siblings and friends. There were about 300 volunteer shifts that were filled over the three-day meet. Many also helped in preparation ahead of the meet. THANK YOU to all of you for giving your time and energy so generously. Our amazing and enthusiastic volunteers helped to make this meet run so smoothly.
